A new promo for WHEN CALLS THE HEART Season 13 teases a “moment we’ve all been waiting for.”
In the promo, Nathan talks to Charlotte Thornton, the mother of Elizabeth’s late husband and Little Jack’s dad. “Don’t mess this up,” she tells Nathan.
Erin Krakow, who plays Elizabeth, told Swooon recently, “We hear our audience that there is a desire for them to take steps forward in their relationship, so know that we are listening, and I hope that we deliver.”
Meanwhile, everyone wonders what’s going on with Lucas and Edie. “Do you think they’re official?” Florence asks.

The promo also shows Georgie’s (Melissa Gilbert) return to Hope Valley, and Bill is happy to see her. Allie and Oliver also share a sweet moment after they visit Goldie National Park.

WHEN CALLS THE HEART is based on Janette Oke’s novel of the same name. It follows schoolteacher Elizabeth, who leaves the city for a frontier town in the early 1900s.
The cast began production on Season 13 back in July. They just wrapped filming in October. Brooke Shields will gust star as Charlotte, Parade reported.
Hallmark recently revealed that the show is already renewed for Season 14, and Lori Loughlin will reprise her role as Abigail Stanton. She will appear in six of the 12 episodes of Season 14.
“Since the series’ debut in 2014, the character of Abigail Stanton was a fan favorite and beloved by the Hearties,” said Michelle Vicary, Head of Programming, Hallmark Media. “At its core the Hallmark brand is about hope, positivity and connection, which is also the central theme of When Calls the Heart. We felt that Season 14 was the right time to continue Abigail’s story with her return to this beloved series.”
Should Nathan propose to Elizabeth?
“The very best news: Abigail’s returning to @wcth_tv and Season 14 has been greenlit!” Krakow shared on Instagram. “Tears of joy (not hormones, I think)! Swipe through to see the 1st photo Lori and I ever took together.”
Loughlin last appeared on the show seven years ago.
“Finally! I am so happy 😍. Abigail is my favorite character on the show,” one fan wrote. “Omggggg I’m sooooo excited and happy !!! I loveee Abigail!!! She was so so missed! 😍♥️ let’s go!!” another said.
Season 14 will premiere in 2027. The 13th season of WHEN CALLS THE HEART premieres January 4 at 8/7c.
