What You Need To Know:
For a short animated video, THE WILLIAM BOOTH STORY is very compelling. It has a great character arc and a wonderful plot. Though it deals with tough subjects – alcohol abuse, street fighting, and ladies of the night – none of this is shown in a salacious manner. But, it does show people being transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. THE WILLIAM BOOTH STORY is one of the most uplifting movies in a long time.

More Detail:
THE WILLIAM BOOTH STORY is an excellent addition to a series of animated videos called THE TORCHLIGHTERS: HEROES OF THE FAITH. It’s aimed at introducing children 8-12 to the true-life heroes from Christian history. Although the animation is simple, the story is powerful and dramatic.
The movie opens in 1861 in the hardscrabble, sin-filled East End of East London. Alcoholism, theft, homelessness, prostitution, and other sinful vices abound. William Booth refuses to be promoted as a preacher and teacher in his church because he wants to take the Gospel to the people on the street. When he does so, he’s confronted by the thieves, alcoholics, and ruffians of the East End. His only weapon is the Gospel of Jesus Christ, while his adversaries have clubs, knives, and guns. Can Booth start the Salvation Army and win the war against sin?
