Content:

(PaPaPa, HoHo, LLL, SSS, NNN, A, MMM) A grossly pagan worldview where the pursuit of sexual stimulation is only topped by the pursuit of money that can be made from sexual stimulation, plus some overt homosexual content; 73 obscenities, most beginning with “f”; man pushed from a roof into a pool; the “humor” of the movie is primarily related to male sex organs and sexual stimulation, including self stimulation; fornication; brief encounter of homosexual; full frontal and rear male nudity, upper female nudity clearly for the purpose of stimulation; alcohol use; no smoking or drugs; and, rampant teasing and insulting.

Summary:

BUCKY LARSON: BORN TO BE A STAR is an ultra vulgar truly gross movie about a kind, considerate, innocent boy following his parents’ example and traveling to Hollywood to become a porn star. It’s so vile and predictable it’s shocking that it’s being released by a major movie studio.

Review:

The movie BUCKY LARSON: BORN TO BE A STAR opens with the once proud Columbia Pictures logo. That they’ve stooped to have anything to do with this movie would be like McDonalds putting their logo over a pigsty where hogs are being fed toxic waste. This movie is beyond repulsive. It’s supposedly a comedy about a kind, considerate, innocent boy following his parents’ example and becoming a porn star.

Adam Sandler, one of the writers and producers of this travesty, loves to portray sweet gullible characters triumphing over bad guys. Buck Larson starts out as a very buck-toothed grocery store bag boy who gets fired for spending too much time talking to an old lady. He’s then invited to a party where his friends introduce him to the first pornography he’s ever seen. It turns out to be a porn movie starring his parents, made years earlier.

Bucky sets out to follow in the footsteps of his parents. He takes a bus to Hollywood to try to become a porn star. He winds up befriending an equally innocent and sweet waitress. She roots for him as he blunders his way to stardom. Their sweetness is contrasted against mean, nasty characters, who abuse them and spew out foul language at a steady pace. The “humor” in the movie is so crass, vulgar and sexual it cannot be clearly described without stooping below a level MOVIEGUIDE® would go.

It’s absolutely shocking that this movie is being released by a big studio. ON THE WATERFRONT and BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI were Columbia Pictures. Furthermore, Columbia is now a subsidiary of Sony. Is there absolutely no sense of responsibility?

This is a movie that makes you want to pray for both the filmmakers and anyone who would actually want to buy a ticket. Jesus died on a cross for these people, and we need to care about them. Also, we really need to pray for and admonish anyone who believes in Jesus and buys a ticket to BUCKY LARSON.
