As MOVIEGUIDE® reported almost 15 years ago, Contemporary Hollywood’s fascination with pagan debauchery has its roots in the Marxist radicals of the 1960s, who were, in turn, influenced by the Frankfurt School of Marxism in the 1920s and 30s. Many of the communist leaders of that movement emigrated to America during Hitler’s socialist reign of terror in Europe in the mid 1930s. Before re-establishing itself in Frankfurt in 1953, the institute was affiliated with Columbia University in New York City. The goal of these communist intellectuals was to attack America not by undermining its economic system but by undermining its biblical values and culture based on the Hebrew Scriptures, including the moral code in the Five Books of Moses, and on the New Testament documents. That meant they had to attack Christians and their values, including:
1) Their biblical morality,
2) Their sexual purity,
3) Their commitment to the nuclear family of one man married to one woman with children,
4) Their honor and gratitude toward their parents,
5) Their commitment to the spiritual, moral, intellectual, and character education of their children,
6) Their patriotic allegiance to the United States of America and its Constitution,
7) Their belief in the American value of “E Pluribus Unum (Out of Many One),”
8) Their faith in a Creator God, who will judge all men after they die,
9) Their work ethic, and
10) Their belief in a rugged individualism where everyone, including poor people, is encouraged to take care of themselves while, at the same time, being generous to others, especially those in need.
With help from Hollywood and the news media (what the late conservative-libertarian activist journalist Andrew Breitbart called the “Democrat Media Complex”) – not to mention the publishing industry, the courts, and many devious or clueless politicians, government bureaucrats, and church leaders – the Frankfurt Marxists were able to transform the United States and its culture, often by appealing to people’s sinful, hedonistic natures and their special interests. Hence the dizzying array of racial, ethnic, and sexual minority groups (divide and conquer). Not only did these Marxists and their followers infiltrate the educational establishment, the mass media, and the government, they also infiltrated the church as well as many nonprofit organizations and businesses. Above all, however, their main goal was to destroy Biblical Christianity and everything that comes with it. Of course, the best way to do this is to corrupt the nation’s young people.
This is why, therefore, you have movies like PROJECT X, and before that, the AMERICAN PIE movies, and, before that, PORKY’S and FAST TIMES AT RIDGEMONT HIGH, and, before that, movies like WILD IN THE STREETS (1967), and, before that, SEX KITTENS GO TO COLLEGE (1960), which contained a nude striptease scene in the uncut version. It’s also why you start seeing the Motion Picture Code of Decency starting to break down in the 1950s and eventually being eliminated totally in 1966. It’s also why the Supreme Court decided, in 1962, to do away with all forms of prayer in the government schools, including voluntary prayer. So, today, we now have all these people throughout the land slowly waking up to the cultural transformation and wondering why Barack Hussein Obama and his socialist minions are trying to teach homosexual perversion to kindergarten students as well as teenagers, destroying religious liberty through Obamacare and Romneycare, attacking private property, doing away with or limiting charitable deductions, and trying to offer free birth control pills and abortions to every single woman who wants to let a man get under her dress (or inside her pantsuit).
The setup for PROJECT X is two friends of a high school student named Thomas Kub, plan a raucous birthday party for him at his house while his parents are away. The goal? To have a big enough party so all the prettiest girls at their school will think they’re really cool and maybe have sexual relations with them.
Thomas is thinking they will get about 50 people sitting and drinking around the backyard pool. However, the leader of the three teenagers, a loquacious Jewish boy named Costa, is a master of marketing. He manages to attract 1500 high school and college students, plus an older alumnus who’s married!
Of course, the party gets completely out of hand. In fact, a riot breaks out when the police arrive. Then, the pot dealer they visited earlier in the day comes looking for the batch of Ecstasy pills they inadvertently took from him. The problem is, Costa already found the pills and passed them around to everyone. The bigger problem is, the pot dealer has a flamethrower strapped to his back.
The only limit the filmmakers of PROJECT X seem to have placed on their project is the movie’s depiction of sex and nudity. Almost everything else is way over the top, including the constant foul language, the constant drunken and drug-induced revelry, and the frequent flaunting of all authority. Strangely, the movie’s music doesn’t seem as loud as it should be. Not so strangely, all the raucous partying gets rather repetitious. Until the pot dealer shows up with the flamethrower.
Of course, many teenagers are already paganized by the not so cryptic communist, multicultural, Anti-Christian, and Anti-American propaganda of the educational and political systems around them. So, movies like PROJECT X seem to attract higher and higher levels of youthful moviegoers, and even bigger budgets from Hollywood. In fact, this abhorrent movie is proudly flaunted by one of the six major Hollywood studios, a studio that sometimes releases great family-friendly movies, but not nearly as often as we would like (even though such movies earn lots more money on average).
The good news is that, now that people know about this movie, and where it gets its values, the better able they will be to identify and fix the real problem behind it and behind countless other movies produced by the entertainment industry. Of course, ultimately, the answer to this secular, liberal, leftist attack is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As Paul writes in Galatians 5:6, “The only thing that counts is faith in Jesus Christ expressing itself through love.”
The only limit the filmmakers of PROJECT X place on their abhorrent, despicable project is the movie’s depiction of sex and nudity. Almost everything else is way over the top, including the constant obscenities, constant drunken and drug-induced revelry, and frequent flaunting of authority. In the end, the three teenage boys are rewarded. They get the respect from their peers they were after all along. Please protect America’s children from PROJECT X!
