With a name like BORDELLO OF BLOOD, you can already guess MOVIEGUIDE’s position on this movie. BORDELLO means a house of ill repute and illicit sex, and BLOOD means violence, and you get plenty of both in this movie. The director also throws in many profanities and a swindling, hypocritical, Christian preacher. The movie starts with a midget archeologist resurrecting Lilith, history’s most notorious female vampire. Next we cut to Caleb, a rebel who only wants to fornicate. His sister Katherine is a well-meaning Christian woman who works for a money-swindling preacher, the Reverend Current. Caleb goes to a bordello — the home of Lilith and her vampire call girls. When Caleb ends up missing, Katherine hires private eye Rafe Guttman to find him. He finds out that the Reverend Current is the mastermind behind this whole affair.
This is a movie for the lost world created by the lost world. The Reverend Current is a complete fool, self-righteous and greedy. Lilith laughs at the Cross, and evil triumphs in the end. It is surprising to see that a movie of this subject matter is coming to the main-stream theaters, but filmmakers are now bringing the lowest-grade movies to your local multiplex. Be discerning, boycott BORDELLO OF BLOOD.
