How a FULL HOUSE Star Can Change Hollywood

How a FULL HOUSE Star Can Change Hollywood

Many remember Candace Cameron Bure from her starring role as “D.J. Tanner” from television’s “Full House,” which ran in the late 1980s and early 90s. Today, many know her as a born again Christian actress, author and mother of three.

In a more recent BeliefNet interview, Candace said, “I will only do family-friendly movies or television. They don’t have to necessarily be Christian movies, but I want to be in things that I’m comfortable having my children and husband watch. They come first in my life, not the movie industry.”

Her remark that the movies don’t necessarily have to be “Christian films” may seem odd to both Christians and non-Christians alike.  Interestingly enough, she is speaking on her Christian vocation here.  Martin Luther, prominent Protestant reformer, once said, “The Christian shoemaker does his duty not by putting little crosses on the shoes, but by making good shoes, because God is interested in good craftsmanship.”

Therefore, as a Christian actress, Candace Cameron Bure has a higher chance of changing the world of entertainment while being “in the world yet not of it.”  While she is working on the new 2016 Netflix original series “Fuller House,” a spiritual sequel to “Full House,” she will have the opportunity to show the world that would not typically view Christian movies to see the benefit of wholesome and family-friendly entertainment.

Hopefully Candace can demonstrate the work of the Lord through her “good craftsmanship” with the new series “Fuller House” coming out in 2016 on Netflix.
