Beware This R-Rated Movie Targeted Toward Tween Boys

Just because it stars young actors doesn’t mean GOOD BOYS is fit for your children.
The movie is reportedly so crass that, “I’m pretty sure if I wasn’t in GOOD BOYS, I probably wouldn’t be able to see it,” 12-year-old Jacob Tremblay said.
Multiple reviews report the vile R-rated picture is full of profanity, obscenities and sexual references and situations. Rolling Stone even calls GOOD BOYS the “spiritual prequel” to Seth Rogen’s SUPERBAD.
“If there was a PG-13 cut of this movie, it’d be maybe two minutes long at most,” Tremblay said. “Kids at my school are talking about how they’re going to see it, and I’m like, ‘No, you can’t see it! It’s going to ruin your childhood! It’s going to rot your little brain!’ So they’re going to sneak in.”

The trailer for a new movie produced by Seth Rogen called GOOD BOYS, released this past week, may be a new low for the actor who’s known for shock value content. The trailer, which itself is rated ‘R’ begins with Seth Rogen (THIS IS THE END, KNOCKED UP) telling the three leading child actors, all under the age of 13 years old, that they can’t watch their own movie trailer.
“It’s just too messed up for kids your age,” Rogen says. “There’s drugs, there’s violence, there’s swearing, and although we’ve decided it’s okay for you to do these things in the movie, you can’t watch yourself do those them in the trailer.”
Playing off the irony, one of the child actors exclaims, “that’s f*****-up.”
Rogen agrees saying, “that is f*****-up… welcome to Hollywood.”
The movie stars Tremblay (WONDER, ROOM), Keith L. Williams (THE GOLDBERGS, TEACHERS), and Brady Noon (BOARDWALK EMPIRE). Noon is the oldest, at 13.
Tremblay told the Wall Street Journal that some of his jokes even went over his own head as he delivered his lines.
“I’d have to ask my parents because they’re the ones that really, really know what I’m ready to learn about. So if I didn’t need to know a joke they’d just be like, ‘Well, save that for another time,’” Tremblay said.
GOOD BOYS hits theaters August 15. It’s rated R for strong crude sexual content, drug and alcohol material, and language throughout – all involving tweens.
