Will This Be Mark Harmon’s Last NCIS Season?

While the 18th season of the long-running CBS television show NCIS is delayed indefinitely due to the virus, much of the show’s fanbase has one major question: Will Mark Harmon be back as Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs.
The answer is a definitive yes, but still rumors are circulating as many fans believe this could be his character’s final season.
“I’ve always thought if there’s ever a time where the writers are walking into the room and going ‘I don’t know what to do,’ then I think we all have to look at each other and call it a day,” Harmon said in 2019. “But, we’re not there yet.”
The rumors could be due to the fact that season 17 had an abrupt ending as production was forced to shut down over COVID-19 regulations.
CBS, however, did renew the popular program for season 18, though no air date has been announced.
Deadline reported in May that Harmon signed a new deal with the network.
“The reason we’re looking at Season 18 is fans across the globe have embraced NCIS,” Harmon said.
According to TV Insider, readers voted the NCIS actor Harmon as their TV Fan Favorite for 2020.
