Meanwhile, her father, James, is the Mayor of Longleaf, which is about to hold its 50th Annual Christmas Cup competition with the nearby town, Bridgeport. Kelly’s father would like to win this year, because it will be his last year as Mayor. He and her brother want Kelly to be the coach for the team this year, but Kelly is reluctant. They insist, however, that they need her organization skills as a Marine to lead the team.

Kelly learns the two towns have had to combine their police and fire departments. The department is run by a handsome, former Army Ranger named Quinn Stanton. Kelly convinces Quinn to help her with ideas to coach the team. Meanwhile, the Bridgeport Mayor is coaching her city’s team.
