Celebs Celebrate ‘Precious Gift’ of Quarantine Family Time

The unprecedented coronavirus brought about many challenges, including mandatory quarantines that changed how families interact together. The forced isolation presented a unique opportunity, though, for parents and children to really spend quality time together and create a newfound appreciation for the joy that family can bring.

“It totally tested us but in the best of ways,” Candace Cameron Bure said of quarantining with her husband. “I’ll be honest because we try. We both travel so much. So we were like, ‘This might be the most amount of time we’ve actually spent together in years. This is either going to make us or break us.’ And you know what? It’s made us.”

Bure wasn’t the only celebrity to find comfort in her family during the quarantine.

“Hobbies such as sewing, painting and writing became new hallmarks of satisfaction and having had time at home to just be. To listen. To live for a moment in time without the pressure of results and instead appreciate the natural rhythms of mother and daughter was the most precious gift,” actress Katie Holmes wrote in an essay for Vogue.

Actress Busy Phillips acknowledged how the slow down allowed her spend more time with her girls.

“I have found moments of really being so glad that I’ve gotten to be with my kids in this time. Because I have worked so much for most of their lives, I just haven’t been able to be with them that much, not since Birdie was a baby,” Phillips said.

Musician Nick Jonas said his time at home allowed him to set a firm foundation with his wife, Priyanka Chopra.

“The biggest upside of all this has been that time at home, which me and Pri wouldn’t have had, had this all [not] happened, as busy as our schedules have been over the last couple of years,” Jonas said.

“That has been an upside, just for a little while, kind of planting our roots,” he continued. “I think both of us also spend a lot of our time bouncing our ideas off each other. Having that support kind of built-in at home is such an amazing thing. We’re actually working on a number of things together as well, so it’s kind of a family business at this point.”

With so much chaos and frustration happening in our country today, it’s comforting to see families finding joy in time together.
