Support Religious Liberty by Helping MOVIEGUIDE® Redeem the Media

By Dr. Tom Snyder

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito sounded the alarm last week, saying “religious liberty is in danger of becoming a second-class right.”

He said America has never before seen such extreme limits on freedom as it has this year.

“The pandemic has resulted in previously unimaginable restrictions on individual liberty,” Alito told the Federalist Society in a virtual address. “We have never before seen restrictions so severe, extensive and prolonged as those experienced for most of 2020.”

He cited COVID restrictions that “blatantly discriminated against houses of worship.”

Alito also criticized two Supreme Court decisions when Chief Justice John Roberts limited the First Amendment rights of Christian worshippers by siding with the four leftists on the high court.

Although 2020 has been a highly contentious political year because of the presidential elections, politics don’t exist in a vacuum. In reality, politics are actually an outgrowth of the dominant philosophical, moral and religious ideas permeating the culture around us. As conservative historian Russell Kirk noted in THE CONSERVATIVE MIND, political and economic issues are moral and religious issues.

However, it’s abundantly clear, especially considering the impact of Google, Twitter and Facebook, that the mass media creates the culture and shapes those philosophical, moral and religious issues and ideas. This culture elects the politicians who pick America’s teachers and who appoint America’s highest, most powerful judges, including Alito, Roberts and their seven colleagues.

Consider this: Would abortion still be legal and would marriage be declining if the mass media, especially Hollywood, actually promoted the gift of life, marriage and traditional family values?

For over 35 years, MOVIEGUIDE® has been actively working to redeem the mass media by influencing media executives–including the top decision makers in the entertainment industry–according to biblical principles, to make more movies and television programs. This includes more news programs and documentaries that promote the Good, the True and the Beautiful.

Therefore, if you truly want to stop these attacks on freedom, including the new limits on religious liberty, free speech and freedom of worship, MOVIEGUIDE® should be an essential part of your charitable giving this Thanksgiving and Christmas season.

The evil forces arrayed against American liberty are many and powerful, and very well funded. Your support of MOVIEGUIDE®, including your support of and reliance on this website, can truly make a difference.
