Dog the Bounty Hunter Joins the Search to Bring Homicide Suspect Brian Laundrie to Justice

“Dog the Bounty Hunter,” or Duane Chapman, joined the search for Brian Laundrie after he became a suspect in the homicide of his fiancé, Gabby Petito.

Although Chapman was on his honeymoon with his wife Francie in Florida, they felt a call to help bring Laundrie to justice.

“Dog and Francie, who are devout Christians, felt as if their proximity to the search was not a coincidence and they wanted to do something to help the Petito family,” spokesperson Jennifer Willingham told The Christian Post. “At the same time, Dog’s fans were sending him tips and urging him to join the search.”

She added: “Therefore, Dog and his team, including his daughter Lyssa and Francie’s son Greg who are working from Hawaii and Colorado respectively, opened up a formal tip line, 833-TELLDOG, and volunteered their time to search for Mr. Laundrie this past weekend.”

Despite a few discoveries, no solid evidence has yet been found in regards to Laundrie’s whereabouts. Chapman said that he believes the fugitive is hiding among the interconnected islands of Egmont Key in Florida.

“This would be and could be a perfect spot for him to hide, not too many people out here. But there’s a lot of environmental things that we’re going to fight,” Chapman said in a video he posted to Twitter. “So here we go. The search now is really on. The search has just begun.”

The 68-year-old bounty hunter has helped apprehend over 8,000 fugitives, according to CP.

Petito quit her job to become a travel blogger and set out in a van with her fiancé to visit national parks. Petito was reported missing on Sept. 11 by her parents after their daughter did not respond to texts or calls.

On Sept. 19, authorities found Petito’s body in northwestern Wyoming.

As seen on a geotag on her Instagram, her last publicly known location was Arches national park in Utah on Aug. 12.

Although the case has been ruled a homicide, police have not released details on Petito’s death post-autopsy.

According to Willingham, Chapman and his crew have the blessing of the Petito family.

“During their search, they have unearthed multiple new leads. They will be continuing the hunt in the coming days, following evidence and tips in an effort to aid law enforcement,” she said.
