Texas Abortion Drop by Nearly Half as Abortion Advocates Push for ‘Roe V Wade Part 2’

By Movieguide® Staff

Since Roe V. Wade and the Supreme Court decision in 1973, Christians have fought on the frontlines to help protect not only the lives of unborn children in a mother’s womb but also the mother.

Despite the mainstream narrative that encourages abortion, a recent victory came after Texas passed a strict pro-life bill that outlawed abortions after a detectable heartbeat.

According to the Texas Policy Evaluation Project, the state’s bill had the desired effect, as there was a 38% decrease of abortions in 2020 after Gov. Greg Abbott’s new law.

“We are the first state to be able to enforce a heartbeat bill, and lives are being saved every day because of this work,” John Seago, legislative director for Texas Right to Life, told The New York Times, adding that it is “a phenomenal success for the pro-life movement.”

The decrease in abortions in Texas is an encouragement to those who believe in the sanctity of life. However, pro-abortion advocates see it as a significant setback and are already fighting against the heartbeat bill, S.B. 8.

According to former senior advisor to President Trump, Stephen Miller, the Supreme Court agreed to hear two cases that pro-abortion advocates hope will launch Roe V. Wade “part 2,” according to former senior advisor to President Trump, Stephen Miller.

“The Texas Heartbeat Bill was written to be fully congruent with federal law, state law, and Roe v. Wade,” Miller told Fox News. “Pro-abortion activists have had to invent one radical extra-legal pathway after another to go after it.

“The simple matter of fact is that the pro-abortion crowd has successfully, up until now, gotten the courts to wall off the criminal enforcement of abortion restrictions, and that is preposterous for all the reasons that you can imagine,” he added. “Yet now abortion activists are asking courts to take “the equally breathtaking step of creating a separate, completely different Roe part 2 that speaks to third-party civil action that has nothing to do with the original ruling.”

Miller said that the fight over abortion laws is also a reflection of the state of democracy in the U.S.

“In every other area of public life, people are able to, through the legislatures, pass laws against sex trafficking, sexual abuse, elder abuse, against every other social ill imaginable,” he explained. “And yet for about half a century now, there’s been no ability by citizens in any state to work through legislatures to ensure some measure of protection for our youngest and most vulnerable citizens.”

They have been many movies that highlight the truth about abortion in America such as DIVIDED HEARTS OF AMERICA and ROE V. WADE.

Movieguide® previously reported on ROE V. WADE:

Pro-life stories are important because they humanize the dehumanizing narrative of a culture that works to make abortion mainstream.

“Our culture has come so far that a lot of people utilize it as birth control. There are even actresses in Hollywood who wear it as a badge of honor,” Loeb points out. “Whether you believe in abortion or not, I don’t think anybody should think of it as a badge of honor or as birth control. It is the ending of the life of a human being, no matter at what stage. That’s something that needs to be taken with extreme seriousness, thoughtfulness and concern.”

“Americans are a very sensitive society and we need to be sensitive about all issues, especially the life of a human being. I really want people to stop and think before they make decisions, whether it’s the decision to have sex without birth control or to understand the consequences,” Loeb concluded. “Knowledge is power, right? When we have the knowledge, we can make better, more informed decisions in our lives.”
