Hailey Bieber: ‘Money, Fame, Parties’ Cannot Fill Your ‘Life Or Your Heart’

By Movieguide® Staff

Hailey Baldwin Bieber recently shared how her faith and relationship with her husband Justin Bieber ground her in acting and modeling.

“I know that you don’t find the things that fill the voids in your life or your heart through money or fame or this industry or cool parties or what rooms you’re in with people,” Hailey told the Wall Street Journal in a recent interview “I’ve been there and I’ve seen it and I’m also married to somebody who’s seen it on even a bigger scale than I have.”

Despite her influence and audiences assumptions, Hailey notes that she and her husband are “normal” people whose lives are always in the limelight.

“I want to make people feel like I’m another gal next door,” she said. “I’m a girl from New York who happened to get to this place.”

God’s sovereignty is apparent in Hailey and Justin’s relationship. The two met when she was 12, and he was 15. Hailey’s father, actor Stephen Baldwin, and Justin’s mother, Pattie Mallette, shared the Christian faith, which would become a cornerstone for their children’s marriage.

Although Hailey and Justin had dated several times, it was not until 2018 that the two met at a Church conference and began to take their relationship to the next level.

“When it comes to style and taste in music, there is a lot of similar taste there but there is also a lot of opposite…which I think is cool, because then you get to show each other new things that maybe we wouldn’t have heard before,” she said. “I don’t think you can be the exact same as your partner…. I would not want to be with the exact male version of me.”

The young supermodel was unashamed to share just how significant faith has been throughout her life.

“As I got older, it got harder to follow church and the Bible because it felt very adult. I don’t want to sound wrong, but it was boring. I didn’t care about it anymore, until I found a church I felt was geared toward young people. And for me, that was the Hillsong Church in New York City,” Hailey said. “It started to feel like my own little community of people who were also young and following God and just immersed in a church community. Then I developed my own relationship to church and my own relationship with God, separate from being raised that way by my parents. That’s been a cool journey for me.”

The young wife also said faith was her saving grace when she and Justin first legally wed at a courthouse. At the time, Justin had yet to be diagnosed with Lyme disease.

“When we first got married, we were just figuring out our life together. I felt like putting a wedding in the middle of all of that would be really hectic and stressful,” Hailey said.

“We went straight into figuring out the hard stuff. Because you never know what can happen with someone’s health,” Hailey said. “When you don’t know what’s happening, it’s really scary. And then you have the opinions of everybody from the outside, and it just sucks.”
