Audrey is eager to get a promotion at the newspaper where she works in Chicago. Her boss tells her she can get the promotion if she goes to a local town, Hope Cover, and write about a small newspaper that won a Pulitzer Prize. When she arrives, she meets the Editor-in-Chief, Morgan, who happens to be taking over the paper from his father. Morgan is rude at first and asks Audrey if she is the delivery person.

Audrey is staying in town with her best friend, Jane, who started a bed and breakfast at the same time. Jane is dating Howie and is hopeful they will get married, but she feels stuck in limbo. When she asks the local newspaper advice column called “Ask Aunt Hope” to help her with her relationship, Aunt Hope gives her great advice.

Meanwhile, Audrey can see that the newspaper’s advice columns brings inspiration and wisdom to all those who read it. Audrey realizes that writing about the column would add to her article about the local newspaper. So, she starts interviewing local people on how Ask Aunt Hope encouraged them. The only thing is, the identity of the writer for Ask Aunt Hope is a mystery.

Soon, Audrey is falling for Morgan, but he’s dating another woman. Will there be hope at the end of the road?
