Great American Media announced it will begin releasing a daily prayer through its journal which will tie into a Bible verse, a Great American Pure Flix movie and a weekly theme.
“We are privileged to launch the Great American Pure Flix ‘Today’s Morning Prayer’ devotional, provided to our viewers. We have found in recent weeks that our supporters and friends of Great American Media are seeking devotionals about heaven, more prayer-focused content, and uplifting faith movies for the Christmas season,” Great American Media president and CEO Bill Abbott said in a statement. “At Great American Pure Flix, we want to impact our culture with faith-driven content. As we look in our communities, the power of prayer has become more relevant than ever.”

The addition of this short daily devotional comes as Christian content continues its meteoric rise, encouraging more and more people in their faith every day. A recent study revealed that half of all Americans engage with Christian media at least once every week, while 61% of Americans consider themselves a Christian media user. The reach of this content is truly incredible given that a 2024 poll found that only 32% of Americans attend church each week.
While Christian content is an incredible way to expose audiences to Christian stories and morals, it does not replace actual time in the Bible or time spent with God in prayer. Thus, it is encouraging to see Great American Media taking a step to move its audience beyond the content into a real relationship with the Lord.
THE CHOSEN follows a similar path, as it offers its viewers a Bible study and devotional led by Amanda Jenkins, the wife of creator Dallas Jenkins.
“We look at the scripts, and we choose the themes and we move from there…” Amanda told Movieuguide®. “We don’t want people to ultimately land on the show. We want them to land in scripture.”
THE CHOSEN has also partnered with devotional app Glorify over the past year to provide even more avenues for fans of the show to grow in their faith.
“One of my favorite things about this partnership is that it got me using Glorify every day, and it’s terrific,” Dallas said. “This is a perfect fit for those who want to go deeper into the stories we’re portraying in the show.”
While companies like Great American Media and Dallas’ 5&2 Studios are focused on creating high-quality content for their viewers, it is amazing that they also take their audience’s personal faith into consideration and work to help them deepen their relationship with the Lord — the only way for them to experience a true life change. Great American Media’s “Today’s Morning Prayer” is now available.
