Missy Peregrym Returns To FBI Set After Giving Birth to Daughter

Missy Peregyrm recently discussed being a mom of two, as well as her return to work after giving birth to daughter Mela this summer.
“It was a really big deal, to choose a home birth,” Peregrym said of Mela’s birth. “I just knew that I wanted to have more power at the end of the day. I really wanted to be able to choose what I wanted and be heard and respected for the choices I was making.”
She continued, “To just get into my own bed and Otis [her son, born in 2020] was upstairs — he woke up a couple hours later — just for him to come into the bed and meet his sister. Then to have my midwife come back the next week to check on me, I felt very cared for as the mother.”
Peregrym also spoke about the transition to being a two-child household.
“His world got rocked,” she said of her oldest child. However, Otis soon adjusted to having a baby sister and the “new dynamic.”
“He’s always been really sweet to Mela. It’s kind of the best thing in the whole world,” the actress shared. “I don’t think there’s any way to have a super easy time with any child, whatever number it is, there’s always an adjustment period time.”
“I couldn’t imagine not having either of them in my life,” she said of her children.
Peregrym gave some details about what it’s like bringing Mela to set with her as she returns to work on FBI.
“It felt awesome to be able to share her with the cast and crew,” she gushed. “It’s a big deal to add a child to your family and after working with everyone for five years now, it feels really good to be able to share my personal side with everybody.”
She also revealed how challenging it is to juggle parenting and working, saying, “Your heart is in two places all the time. I’ve never multitasked like this before in my life.”

FBI star Missy Peregrym recently announced that she would step away from the CBS show for a little on maternity leave.
“Tonight is my last episode of the season – you don’t want to miss it! I’m off for maternity leave now…,” she captioned an Instagram post.
So, how will the showrunners explain her character, Special Agent Maggie Bell’s, absence?
According to TV Line, her last episode before going on maternity leave sees her character and fellow agent O.A. (played by Zeeko Zaki) track down a terrorist. While they do manage to defeat the bad guy, Maggie gets trapped in a lab with an open container of deadly sarin gas.
Her character will make it out, but her exposure to the toxic gas means a lengthy recovery at the hospital – the perfect explanation for her absence.
“The reality is that [Maggie’s recovery] is a journey, it’s going to be a while,” showrunner Rick Eid said. “When she does come back, whenever that is, she’ll probably, for the most part, be the same ol’ Maggie, but she did go through something pretty traumatic. There are not only physical injuries but maybe some emotional ones, and that may affect how she sees the world and how she handles cases.”
