Jamie Foxx Returns to Work Following 2023 Health Scare

By Movieguide® Contributor

Jamie Foxx is back at work after a health scare that kept him out of the spotlight for months.

TODAY reported that the actor was seen with Cameron Diaz on the set of their latest project, BACK IN ACTION, earlier this month.

“It was one of the first times the star had been seen out and about since he experienced an undisclosed medical emergency in April 2023,” the outlet wrote

Movieguide® previously reported:

Foxx’s daughter Corinne recently shared that her father was hospitalized after experiencing a “medical complication.”

“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” she shared in a statement posted to Instagram. “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers.”

A source shared that Foxx is “okay, thank God” and that he is “awake and alert.”

Foxx made his first public appearance since his health crisis in December 2023 at the Critics Choice Association‘s Celebration of Cinema and Television: Honoring Black, Latino and AAPI Achievements. The actor received the Vanguard Award for his performance in THE BURIAL.

“I’ve been through something. I’ve been through some things. You know, it’s crazy, I couldn’t do that six months ago. I couldn’t actually walk,” Foxx said in his speech. “I wouldn’t wish what I went through on my worst enemy because it’s tough.”

He continued, “I have a new respect for life. I have a new respect for my art. I watched so many movies and listened to so many songs trying to have the time go by. Don’t give up on your art, man, don’t give up.”

Foxx also celebrated his recovery in an Instagram post, writing, “I wanna start by saying thank you to everyone that prayed for me when I was in a bad way… here lately I’ve been able to thank some of you personally but I want to say to all of you. I NEEDED EVERY PRAYER… you lifted me through… I was able to make it to today because of your prayers.”
