Actor Ricky Schroder Prays to ‘Stay Connected to My Creator’

Actor and filmmaker Ricky Schroder makes daily prayer a priority in his life.

“I pray a lot,” he told Fox News Digital. “I haven’t always prayed a lot, but I do now. And so, I pray multiple times a day just to stay connected to my creator, to my God.”

“We live in a society that wants to teach people they are gods or that they’re in charge,” he added. “But when you submit yourself to the true power of God and keep submitting yourself, it gets easier.”

THE CHAMP actor also emphasized how prayer can give us clarity and direction.

“Pray. If you believe in the Lord, pray because he gives you clarity. And I guess just take care of yourself. Put yourself at the top of the list so your physical, emotional, and spiritual kind of — you’re prepared to face the world. The world can be a challenging, tough place,” Schroder explained.

Schroder has a heart to see America and the film industry reject evil ideologies and instead turn to God. To do his part, he began an organization called “Reel American Heroes Foundation,” which seeks to “inspire, raise awareness, entertain, and educate.”

“We’re hoping to get your stories,” he said. “We are hoping other people will contribute and send us stories. And we can aggregate these stories and restart reprogramming America away from the DEI programming – diversity, equity and inclusion – to the real principles and values that built this great nation.”

In a previous interview, Schroder opened up about why he started his nonprofit.

“I started this nonprofit because the diversity equity and inclusion guidelines at the Academy,” Schroder explained. “A few years ago they changed the guidelines so that you couldn’t be eligible for the best picture category for the Oscar if you didn’t have LGBTQ + characters [and] themes of your story.”

“It really offended me, and I decided Hollywood had fallen at that point, and I needed to…I still want to tell stories and still work and do stuff,” he added.

Movieguide® previously reported on Schroder’s organization:

To celebrate those who fight for America every day, THE CHAMP actor Ricky Schroder created the Reel American Heroes Foundation to promote the patriots whom Hollywood overlooks.

Over the past decade, Hollywood has moved away from celebrating military stories highlighting the brave sacrifices of those fighting for our country’s freedom. The media even actively demonizes the military and encourages the younger generation to view America’s military not as freedom fighters but as global tyrants.

Schroder hopes to change this narrative and refocus the industry on bringing honor and glory to those who sacrifice everything for our country’s freedom.

“It’s an aggregator for good kinds of stories with values and principles that uplift America instead of tear it down,” he said of his platform.
