Erin Napier Shares Sweet Photo of Daughter Getting ‘Ready For Church’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Erin Napier just shared an adorable picture of her daughter getting dressed for church.

“Mae thought she was ready for church,” the HOME TOWN star captioned her Instagram story.

In the photo, Mae, 2, is wearing a nightgown, her backpack and a pair of her mom’s high heels.

Erin and her husband, Ben, also share Helen, 6. The couple often talk about their parenting style, specifically their commitment to keeping their girls off of social media.

“I feel like when our kids have more opportunity to be engaged in the real world and learning skills and finding their talents, that’s where self-assurance comes from,” Erin said in an interview with PEOPLE. “And the opposite of finding self-assurance is in social media. Everything that tears down our self-confidence and self-assurance lives there.”

She continued, “So that’s really what we want to focus on is helping our girls find their gifts in the real world, and when they’re older, much older, I think they’ll be mentally prepared for what social media is and the tool that it can be.”

The couple elaborated on their no-social-media policy in an interview with TODAY, explaining that they decided to ban it after thinking about what it would be like to have their childhoods and adolescence documented.

“How would I feel about it, if I went back in time and saw my mom posted all of this stuff for the world to see? How would I feel about that?,” Erin said, with Ben adding, “What if you went back 30 years and started publicizing the things that I did, and my brothers and my friends, before I knew better?”

Erin continued, “Our personal policy is we’re not going to let our kids have any access to social media until they’re done with high school, I think, until you’re old enough to see it for what it is.”

Movieguide® previously reported on the Napiers’ commitment to family:

Between a newborn and filming, HOME TOWN’s Ben and Erin Napier are finally finding their groove as a family of four.

However, both are adamant that their kids always come before work – even though it took some time to adjust.

One of the biggest ways she and Ben are putting their family first? The two have a rule for themselves and their crew that they will work “normal” hours, from 8 to 5. After that, it’s family time.

“I really don’t want someone else to raise them. I want us to be 100 percent a part of their life,” said Erin.

Ben agreed: “If we are going to go on the road for [Home Town] Takeover, or if we’re going to do media stuff in New York, then we’re going to have to bring our family along with us. And so that’s how we do it. We don’t fold on our family time.”

Would you let your daughter wear this to church?
