Chip and Joanna Gaines Announce FIXER UPPER: THE LAKEHOUSE

Chip and Joanna Gaines are celebrating 10 years of FIXER UPPER with a new season of the show—FIXER UPPER: THE LAKEHOUSE.
According to Variety, FIXER UPPER: THE LAKEHOUSE “follows Chip and Joanna as they take on a unique mid-century modern lakehouse flip near Lake Waco, a new neighborhood for the home renovation duo based in Waco, Texas.”
In a press release, the Gaines’ said, “When FIXER UPPER premiered 10 years ago, we couldn’t have imagined the journey we had ahead of us. Though a lot has changed and evolved in the decade between then and now, our love for home is still at the heart of everything we do. We feel honored that we get to continue pouring into the stories of these homes across Waco, and we’re excited to share our latest project with you this summer with FIXER UPPER: THE LAKEHOUSE.”
Allison Page, Magnolia Network’s president, added, “We’re so excited to see how Chip and Jo will tackle this lakehouse in Waco and flex their renovation and design muscles in ways our viewers have never seen before. Since the premiere of FIXER UPPER in 2014, they have amassed a huge global fanbase and grown a beloved lifestyle brand from the ground up, and we’re thrilled to celebrate this milestone alongside them this year.”
The couple also announced the new show on social media with a funny video that shows Joanna searching for Chip in a house they’re working on. She finally finds him — relaxing on a float in the lake.
“Only the lake could pull Chip away from #DemoDay!” the caption reads. “#FixerUpperTheLakehouse with @chipgaines and @joannagaines premieres Sunday, June 2 on #MagnoliaNetwork.”
In addition to FIXER UPPER’s anniversary, the couple also recently celebrated their own anniversary. Movieguide® previously reported:
Chip and Joanna Gaines are reflecting on the “beautiful moment” they’re in during their 20-year marriage.
“Jo and I are in this beautiful moment. We’re evolving into each other,” Chip told PEOPLE. “It’s the second part of our marriage.”
Joanna added, “I would say, as we’re getting older, I’m shifting and I’m more like Chip, and Chip is more like me.”
Part of this new phase of their marriage includes establishing new habits. Joanna is learning to face her fears and embrace emotions. Chip is taking time to relax and cheer on his wife.
“I want to be her biggest cheerleader,” he explained. “I’m like, ‘Hey, you go do whatever. My knees are killing me.’”
