Tim Tebow shared a staggering statistic to bring awareness to the atrocity that is human trafficking.

“It would cost $190 billion to own all 32 NFL teams,” his recent Instagram post said. “Human trafficking makes more than that every year, an estimated $236 billion annually.”

The former NFL star added in the caption, “Behind the billions are real people.”

“When we talk about numbers this big, it’s easy to lose sight of who’s being hurt. But this isn’t just statistics — it’s lives,” Tebow emphasized.

He continued, “Human trafficking generates an estimated $236 billion every year. In football terms, that’s more than enough to buy all 32 NFL teams — and still have billions left over.”

“This isn’t a game. It’s a crime against people,” he said. “Many are exploited without ever leaving home, often by someone they know and trust. That reality is why we fight. To protect the vulnerable. To expose the truth. And to stand up for those who can’t stand up for themselves.”

People in the comment section were shocked by this horrific fact.

“Thank you for shining a light on a serious problem,” one person said. Another person added, “Something needs to change.”

Tebow fights human trafficking by bringing awareness and through his organization The Tim Tebow Foundation.

“Our Heart is to love Jesus and to love people We are called to fight for the world’s Most Vulnerable People through our four main areas of focus – Anti-Human Trafficking & Child Exploitation, Orphan Care & Prevention, Profound Medical Needs, and Special Needs Ministry,” his website explains.

Human trafficking occurs in different ways, but all of it is a crime against humanity. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security states, “77% of all victims are in forced labor, 23% of all victims are in sex trafficking, 57% are men and boys, 43% are women and girls.”

In a separate Instagram post, Tebow expressed why he works so hard for those in these terrible situations.

“A core value at our foundation is we hurt when they hurt, which really dictates our heart and how we’re called and how we’re moved and how we want to operate in such a way that it compels the right person to be a part, but it repels the person that says ‘I don’t want to do that,'” he said.

When we care about helping those being exploited in devastating ways, like Tim Tebow does, we can make a huge difference in our world.
