Another BLUE BLOODS star is set to make an appearance in BOSTON BLUE!

“Grandpa Reagan’s going to be showing up, and Erin’s going to show up again,” star Donnie Wahlberg recently revealed during a virtual panel hosted by the Television Critics Association.

TV Line later confirmed that Len Cariou (Henry Reagan) will be appearing on the show, as well as Bridget Moynahan (Erin), who last showed up in BOSTON BLUE’s pilot.

BOSTON BLUE follows Wahlberg’s Danny Reagan as he moves to Boston, hoping to get closer to his son Sean, played by Mika Amonsen. The role was originally played by Andrew Terraciano in BLUE BLOODS.

“Mika’s been fantastic,” Wahlberg told PEOPLE of his co-star. “He’s coming into a place, that of another actor, and that’s a challenge. Much like the challenge of me carrying on the BLUE BLOODS universe without BLUE BLOODS. I could understand what he was going through and it connected us and bonded us in many ways, and I think that resonates on screen a lot.”

Wahlberg also spoke to PEOPLE about the parallels he has drawn between his character’s relationship with his son and his own with his sons, Xavier, Elijah and Evan.

“So many people say, ‘Well, Danny would never leave New York. It’s not believable, and his son wouldn’t want him in Boston,’” he told the outlet. “I have a 24-year-old son and I can’t tell you how many times he’s asked me in the last year to move back to California to be close to him.”

Wahlberg continued, “It’s the most wonderful feeling in my personal life, and I’m watching it play out in my TV life. Every time there’s a doubt that this guy would stay in town, I just think of my son’s text and I say, ‘Oh, you think a son wouldn’t want to be close to his Dad?’ There’s no more reason for Danny to leave New York than for his son.”

Wahlberg has made it clear he would welcome any BLUE BLOODS actors onto the show, and many have their fingers crossed Tom Selleck will make a cameo. Selleck’s answer?

“[I don’t] know if I would do BOSTON BLUE,” the 80-year-old recently told Hour Detroit. “That’s another show. I think it’s partly my lot in life to make sure BLUE BLOODS has its place in television history, but I don’t think it’s my lot in life to keep playing Frank Reagan.”

While it looks like Selleck isn’t planning on joining BOSTON BLUE any time soon, it looks like there are plenty of BLUE BLOODS stars who will show up in future episodes!
