A new romantic comedy from Angel Studios debuts next week, and its stars think you’ll love it just as much as them.
Titled SOLO MIO, the movie stars Kevin James alongside Kim Coates and the one and only Jonathan Roumie. In fact, the actors got so close during production that they can’t seem to do anything without each other — including going on THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JIMMY FALLON.
“Those guys, those guys are the best,” James told Fallon of his costars. “They’re really good. Kim Coates and Jonathan Roumie…I don’t know them in the movie, and they come meet me, and they try to help me. And there they were. They loved it so much shooting it that they became part of my life. And they’re amazing. They’re amazing guys.”
“But that’s a little annoying, because they’re everywhere trying to help me out,” he quipped as the camera panned to show Coates and Roumie cheering James on from the audience.

SOLO MIO follows James’ Matt Taylor, a jilted groom.
“A wedding disaster leaves the groom stranded in Rome, heartbroken in the world’s happiest city. But with one determined local — and a few meddling vacation couples — in his corner, his ruined honeymoon becomes an adventure he never expected. Because sometimes heartbreak is just the first chapter of a better story,” it’s synopsis reads.
In a recent interview on GOOD MORNING AMERICA, James shared more about the movie.
“I get left at the altar. That happened to a lot of people. We interviewed so many people where it was it really occurred, and it’s horrible,” he explained. “I can’t get out of the honeymoon, and I paid for it, so go out on my own, and that’s what I do. I go out and experience Italy myself.”
James praised the movie and cast members involved.
“It was a great, great cast. Everybody came together and it was such a beautiful place to shoot that literally, I think it’s the best movie I’ve been a part of it, not because of me, but because of the people, the directors,” he said. “It’s a really beautiful picture.”
Fans are sure to love it.
“We saw SOLO MIO, and the feeling was incredible,” said Jordan Harmon, President of Angel. “We knew it was a perfect fit for Angel to release to a broad audience. Kevin James and Jonathan Roumie bring heart, humor, and originality to this uplifting tale of rediscovery, and we can’t wait for audiences to experience it in theaters.”
Roumie called it “an experience I’ll never forget!”
“Come laugh, cry, and party in the Italian countryside with me and my new pals with a story that will make you feel good good….the lifts-the-soul kinda good,” he encouraged his fans.
SOLO MIO will hit theaters Feb. 6, 2026.
