Angel Studios officially announced the release date of SOLO MIO, a film starring Kevin James, THE CHOSEN’s Jonathan Roumie, Alyson Hannigan and more.
SOLO MIO is expected to make its theatrical release on Feb. 6, 2026.
“Directed by Charles and Daniel Kinnane (HOME TEAM) and written by James, Patrick Kinnane (SOUND GUY) and John Kinnane (SOUND GUY), SOLO MIO follows Matt, a man whose dreams of a picturesque Italian wedding are shattered when his fiancée leaves him at the altar. Matt embarks on his planned honeymoon across Italy alone, immersing himself in the country’s vibrant culture, food, and beauty,” the press release reads.
“We saw SOLO MIO, and the feeling was incredible. We knew it was a perfect fit for Angel to release to a broad audience,” President of Angel, Jordan Harmon, said. “Kevin James and Jonathan Roumie bring heart, humor, and originality to this uplifting tale of rediscovery, and we can’t wait for audiences to experience it in theaters.”
“We couldn’t be more excited to be partnered with Angel on SOLO MIO,” producer Jeffrey Greenstein added. “This is a film that people need to see in theaters. The world just needs fun, heartfelt content with a strong message, and we’re excited to get them back into the theaters to see this one.”
James shared the announcement on his Instagram and wrote, “First look of SOLO MIO – Only in theaters Feb 6th. Can’t wait for you all to see this one!!!!!!”

James’ fans can’t wait either. “This is so exciting!!” one person wrote. Another said, “THIS IS GONNA BE SO GOOOD.” “Let’s go!!!!! It’s gonna be the best movie ever!!” another person commented.
Roumie also celebrated the movie on Instagram, writing, “It’s been a busy couple of seasons…(Praise The Lord for all of it, challenges included.”
Known for movies like dramas like SOUND OF FREEDOM and kids’ movies like THE KING OF KINGS, SOLO MIO will be Angel Studios’ first-ever romantic comedy.
“SOLO MIO has already resonated with Guild members who enthusiastically applauded the film’s humor, romance, and inspiration, continuing the studio’s tradition of delivering meaningful cinematic experiences,” Angel’s press release shared.
According to Deadline, SOLO MIO sees the second collaboration between James, Fasano’s Nickel City Pictures and Greenstein’s A Higher Standard. They previously worked together on PLAYDATE.
While the film was first announced in 2024, this latest update means fans can finally get excited to see SOLO MIO in theaters early next year.
