A scary moment of vertigo at one of his concerts reminded Danny Gokey that his life is in God’s hands, and all he can do is keep worshipping.

“I’ve had vertigo before, but the worst thoughts go through my mind, like, ‘But wait, is this bigger than vertigo? Is it something I don’t see?’ Even if it was, is His Word still true?” Gokey said at a performance. “See, this is where the rubber meets the road. Even if it was something worse, which I don’t think it is, do we worship anyways, or do we start complaining? See, this is what determines the people of God. It’s not just in deed, but it’s in action.”

“I don’t know what’s gonna happen if I pass out. They’ll pick me up, and I’ll start singing again,” he joked. “I don’t care because what matters is Christ in me, the hope of glory. I knew when the tears started falling in ‘Stand in Faith,’ I was like, ‘You know what, this is what it’s all about.’ It’s all about worshiping Him, whatever we feel like.”

A woman then came out on stage and said, “I don’t want to steal the show, but can we pray for you?”

The entire room began to pray for Gokey and lay hands on him for complete healing.

“Jesus, we love you, and we know that you have all healing power, all rest, all presence, all provision over everything. From the top of his head to the soles of his feet, God. And so, Jesus, right now, would you just pour out grace and mercy and healing and your presence and your love and your overflow. We love you, Jesus. Amen!” the woman prayed.

Gokey is currently in the middle of his HOPE tour, which began in Rustburg, Virginia, and will conclude in Batavio, Ohio, tonight. Throughout the tour, Gokey was joined by We Are Messengers and Jon Reddick.

He previously spoke about his heart behind “Stand in Faith,” which released in 2021.

“I want to share with you the heart behind the song. Hebrews 11:6 says that it is impossible to please God without faith. What is faith? Faith is the strongest reliance, it is the greatest form of trust that you put into someone,” he described.

“When wrong things are happening, you can still move forward and trust and worship God. Faith is a currency to heaven that opens a door to blessing, good things, and a good future,” Gokey said.

What a powerful reminder that we can continue to worship and trust God, even in difficult or uncertain circumstances.
