FULL HOUSE’s Jodie Sweetin would love to resume her series role in some capacity, even if she doesn’t get a check to cash in.
“I got a one-cent check the other day,” she said of her residuals from FULL HOUSE in a recent podcast interview. “No, there’s no syndication anymore because it’s all in streaming.”
She asked, “Who gets paid for that? Nobody gets paid for that.”
In her 20s, she would get paid decent residuals, but it wasn’t reliable income.
“You don’t know how much it’s going to be, or how often they’re going to run the show. So sometimes you’re like, ‘Oh, cool. That was nice.’ And then sometimes you’re like, ‘All right, well, there’s a nice dinner out,’” Sweetin recalled.
Unlike what some may think, she doesn’t have an extravagant lifestyle, like some of her co-stars.
“I’m like, ‘Honey, I drive my 2023 used Hyundai Sonata that I love. I rent my house. I have credit cards that are maxed out.’ I live a normal life,’” she said.
Sweetin added, “And yeah, there are moments when you’re like, ‘This is going well,’ and there are times when you’re like, ‘I need a day job.’”

She would love to come back on the show in some way.
“If I got to come back in another 20 years and work with these people again, who I’ve known for my entire life, yeah, I would totally do that,” she said.
Sweetin continued, “I love what FULL HOUSE has done. I love what it has created. I love what it means to people.”
Her memories from the show mean a lot to her.
“I’m thrilled to continue to do that in whatever way I can,” Sweetin said.
She also revealed that she hasn’t talked to her on-screen sisters, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, for years.
“I loved them. I was really close to Ashley and Mary-Kate…from the beginning,” she said. “I loved being the older one [and the] caretaker like, ‘Let’s be friends.’ They would come spend the night at my house.”
“They’d come to my cabin on the weekends with my parents and I. We’d go horseback riding,” she continued. “We’d go to Disneyland.”
She believes that after FULL HOUSE, the twins have had a very different life than the other stars.
“People say, ‘Oh, well, do you guys not talk? Is it bad?’ No, they were 8 years old when the show finished, [and] we weren’t as close as we were. I didn’t see them all the time,” Sweetin explained.
There wasn’t any drama between them.
She said, “They moved to New York and then got married and [built their] fashion empire and moved into that world. It was, like, we just sort of drifted apart.”
As for her co-star Candace Cameron Bure, she says there’s no drama there either.
“[People often] pit me and Candace against each other, and the thing is, at the end of the day, her name has never come out of my mouth,” Sweetin said. “This is just who I am and what I believe, and if that isn’t something we share, cool.”
Sweetin’s latest project is as a host on NETFLIX IS A JOKE FEST from May 4-10.
She said of the event, “The best comedy pageant you’ll ever see and the only one in existence!”
While there aren’t any plans to bring back FULL HOUSE, it sounds like Sweetin would be onboard!
