Falcons running back Nathan Carter shared his testimony with a local school in Southfield, Michigan, reflecting on Christ’s life-changing impact.
“The moment that my life changed was a moment when I realized that God loves me too much to stay the same,” Carter shared with Southfield Christian School. “And on that day, after I got off the phone with my dad, I made a decision that changed my life, and I said, ‘Enough is enough.’ And I’m wondering if we can all, as a family here today, make that decision?”
“Can we all say we’re not going to take our relationship with God lightly anymore? That we’re not going to waste any more time, that we’re going to give God our all no matter what, and that we’re not going to look back because Jesus loves you too much to let you stay the same,” he continued.

“This doesn’t mean that our lives will be easy. We’ll still struggle. We’ll still go through tough seasons,” the running back added. “But despite those seasons, we have a promise from Jesus, our resurrected King, that one day in eternity, completely in His presence, we will no longer be hungry, we will no longer be thirsty, we will no longer struggle, because we will be fully satisfied and fully fulfilled in Him forever. So because of that, we can do whatever this life throws at us, knowing the reward that we will receive in heaven.”
Aside from sharing his faith on the field, at speaking engagements and on social media, Carter wrote a book, If I’m Not By Your Side:
The book focuses on encouraging the next generation and is a “heartfelt collection of personal stories, reflections, and life lessons, highlighting the unshakable faith and wisdom gained by walking with God….this book serves as both a testimony and an invitation to walk boldly with Christ through every season of life.”
“This book has been on my heart for a long time, and I cannot wait to share it with you all! I pray that you’ll be encouraged, uplifted, and that hopefully you’ll take away something to share with others — and even pass down to the next generation,” Carter shared on Instagram.
Let’s take Carter’s encouragement to heart and take our faith seriously because “Jesus loves you too much to let you stay the same.”
