LOIS & CLARK: THE NEW ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN actor Dean Cain has got his next project in the works, and it’s all about “heart, humor and grit.”
“LITTLE ANGELS follows Jake Rogers (Dean Cain), a fiery Division I college football coach who is suspended after a controversial remark about female athletes. As part of his redemption, he’s assigned to coach a 12-year-old girls’ soccer team — a group of misfit players with a lot of heart. Through their journey, Jake discovers perspective, purpose, and the true meaning of teamwork,” Pinnacle Peak Picture’s synopsis reads.
Cain not only stars in the movie but also wrote and directed it.
In an interview, Cain discussed the purpose of the film and the lessons he hopes audiences will take away.
“This film celebrates the heart, humor and grit of young girls chasing their dreams on the field — misfits who come together and learn the value of teamwork, friendship, and a ‘never give up’ attitude,” the actor explained. “It’s a film the whole family can watch together and walk away smiling.”
Cain also told Good Life TV that LITTLE ANGELS is a “fun setup and a fun situation.”
“It reminds me of the MIGHTY DUCKS. So, Gordon Bombay gets a bus and has to go coach a bunch of kids he doesn’t want to. They know that he’s a great hockey player. Well, my character is a great football coach, but doesn’t know anything about coaching girls and doesn’t know anything about soccer,” Cain explained.
He added that as his character begins to spend time with the girls, he develops a love for them.
“He starts to change a little bit, and then he sees the kids getting picked on, so then he wants to protect them, and he’s teaching them different things. Then he falls in love with the kids and their heart and their passion,” Cain said.
Founder of Damascus Road Productions, Ryan O’Quinn, also spoke about the importance of films like LITTLE ANGELS.
