It’s only May, but let the holiday cheer begin! HGTV star Erin Napier just announced that she will release a new Christmas story.
In partnership with book publisher High Line Literary and illustrator Adam Trest comes Napier’s new book, “The Christmas House.”
“If these walls could talk…It’s Christmas time! Okay, not exactly. But at High Line, we’re already gearing up for the holiday season. And what better way to do that than with the NYTimes bestselling team behind The Lantern House?” the publisher’s Instagram post began.
“From HGTV star and multiple NYTimes bestselling author @erinapier and illustrator @adamtrest comes…you guessed it…The Christmas House! A warm, soulful story about family, connection and the special tales our homes can tell during the holidays.”
People expressed excitement over the news. In the comment section, one person said, “❤️Can’t wait!!!!!” Another fan added, “The very best news!!!!! ❤️”
Napier released “The Lantern House” in 2022, which she also created with Adam Trest.
“Imagine a house’s early days as a home: A young family builds a picket fence and plants flowers in its yard, children climb the magnolia tree and play the piano in the living room, and there is music inside the house for many happy years,” its synopsis reads.
The book ponders how a family handles the disappointments that come with the aging of a house. The synopsis continues, “The Lantern House dreams of a family who will love it again…and one day, a new story will emerge from within its walls.”
Erin and and her husband Ben Napier are passionate about all things home and the coziness that comes with making a space your own. Recently, they shared how they’ve made their house a home for their two young daughters.
“I grew up on a 40-acre chicken farm and would pick out a baby chick to be my pet every time a new load would come. My playtime consisted of climbing a lot of trees and digging for arrowheads in the woods,” Erin told Southern Living. “That’s not something our girls can do in town. I want their bathwater to be dirty at the end of the day, so it means they weren’t just playing on screens.”
In addition to being in the country, Napier’s Tudor-style home creates the “cozy” feel she longs for.

“All the cozy rooms with dark wood make it seem as if you’re sitting beside a fire — that is the dream for me. I love this style so, so much,” she said.
Erin’s new book is sure to embody all the coziness that the Napiers love during the holidays and all year long.
