A 7TH HEAVEN reboot is officially in the works!
“Anthony Sparks is set to write the potential new incarnation for CBS Studios,” Deadline reported, adding, “Deals are still being finalized, with original series’ star Jessica Biel expected to executive produce the project, now in nascent stages, through her production company Iron Ocean.”
DeVon Franklin is also set to executive produce as part of his overall deal with CBS Studios.
“Sources say that the new show would focus on a diverse family, and that none of the original cast members would appear,” Variety reported. “As the project is still in the very early stages, deals are still being worked out and no network or streamer is attached.”
Reps for CBS have not officially commented on the reboot, per Variety.
The original 7TH HEAVEN ran for 11 seasons across The WB, later renamed to The CW. The show followed the Camdens, a family of nine living in California, where father Eric worked as a Protestant minister.

In addition to Biel, Stephen Collins, Catherine Hicks, Barry Watson, David Gallagher, Beverley Mitchell, Mackenzie Rosman, Nikolas Brino and Lorenzo Brino also starred in the show.
“What I remember most, probably, is the camaraderie of all the kids,” Biel said in a 2025 interview with InStyle, reminiscing on her time on 7TH HEAVEN.
Biel added that she is still very close with co-star Beverley Mitchell, who played her sister on the show. She has even appeared on Mitchell’s 7TH HEAVEN rewatch podcast, which she co-hosts alongside Gallagher and Rosman.
“I say this with all the love in the world — because I love her — She was tough, man,” Biel laughed. “I pushed her buttons. It was such a sisterly relationship. I think I did it because I looked up to her and I loved her. We got under each other’s skin in the best way possible.”
In a 2023 interview, Mitchell spoke about her friendship with Biel, saying, “Jessie and I see each other often, cause obviously, like, she’s my bestie, she’s my ride or die.”
Biel also credited her time on 7TH HEAVEN for giving her a strong work ethic, saying, “The ability to have that longevity and stamina, that’s a huge part of what I can do kind of easily, because it’s what I did ever since I was little. I definitely work with people now who talk about, ‘Man, these hours are long’ and ‘Man, this is a long schedule.’ And I’m like, ‘Is it?’”
The 7TH HEAVEN reboot is still in the very early stages of development, but longtime fans of the show are excited to see this new version of the beloved family drama.
