Los Angeles Lakers center Trey Jemison wants you to “stay locked in” with God this summer.

“Super excited as we start summer,” Jemison began an Instagram Bible study. “Summertime, you start to travel, and you go on all these amazing vacations, and you move around, and your schedule changes. Do me a favor. Make time for God. Don’t fit God in. Make time for God. It’s so easy to put God aside when you’re on vacation and when you’re just out visiting family, but make sure that God’s time is still a priority.”

The athlete then read Matthew 6:33: “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

“That means, no matter where you at, who you are with, take time to fuel your spirit. I promise you, if you go out here trying to live life and move without God and just fit God in, you won’t feel the same,” he said.

The NBA star continued, “But if you do, if you go on a break from God, and you just take a break from your Bible, come back to Him, because one thing I know, like, He’ll forgive you. It’s gonna take work to come back, putting your head in the Bible, that’s gonna be hard, because sometimes I read this book and I don’t feel like reading it, but it’s just like getting back in shape.”

“The first few days of conditioning are terrible,” Trey Jemison added. “It’s kind of hard to get back to reading the Bible and worshiping and praying, but continue to do it. Make yourself make time for God and stay in shape, keep your spirit strong, and watch how God blesses you and your consistency and your obedience.”

Jemison was signed back with the Lakers for Year 2, and he could not be more ready to make his mark on the court.

“GOD BLESSED ME WITH YEAR 2⚡️LORD, I promise to honor you with it all,” he wrote in a post on Instagram.

Jemison had given up on his NBA dreams before God made them come true.

“What’s crazy is I did give up on the process,” he told Lakers Nation. “I was gonna quit basketball and give it up, but I kept my faith in God, had a long prayer one night, and God put it in my heart like ‘Hey, you’re 6’10, 250. I didn’t make you that way for no reason.’ My mom is 6’0 and my dad is 6’4, so I should’ve been like 6’6. But to be 6’10 at this size, God was like ‘Go use it.’ So I kept working and said it’s gonna work out sooner or later, and now I’m in L.A.”

Trey Jemison now not only focuses on making an impact on the court but off it as well. He often posts about his faith on his social media accounts and encourages viewers to grow closer to the Lord through online Bible studies.
