This year has given us a wave of buzzworthy Christian movies and TV shows! It’s refreshing to see content that not only checks all the family-friendly boxes but also leaves a lasting impression for all the right reasons. We’ve rounded up seven films and series that share a strong Christian message—each one is sure to warm your heart and encourage you in your walk with Christ.

LIGHT OF THE WORLD

THE KING OF KINGS is an animated movie that tells the story of Jesus Christ by having Charles Dickens tell the Gospel story to his young son, Walter, after Walter has just destroyed Dickens’ performance of Scrooge before a large London audience. THE KING OF KINGS is a terrific, powerful and moving way to introduce your children to the story of Jesus in a way they can understand.

A WEEK AWAY: Episode 1.1

The first episode of A WEEK AWAY streaming on the Angel app introduces viewers to the group of teens attending Camp Aweegaway, from excited counselors to a faith-resisting camper, who’s suspicious of the camp’s motives. Based on a 2021 movie on Netflix, the first episode of A WEEK AWAY is fun, with fine performances, a well-written plot that sets up the rest of the season and a strong Christian worldview, with discussions of faith and mentions of scripture.

DOT CONNER: WEBTECTIVE follows a mystery-loving teenager who sets off on a dangerous mission to find her missing father, recover a flash drive full of spy secrets, and save the day, with the help of her family and friends. DOT CONNER: WEBTECTIVE is a well-crafted, lively mystery for families, with plenty of action, neat puzzles and a strong Christian worldview, with many scenes featuring characters citing scripture, discussing their faith and pitting their faith in practice.

THE REVIVAL GENERATION is a documentary on CBN Family about a mother named Tonya Prewett who, after witnessing one of her daughters struggle, founds the Christian revival movement UNITEUS with a mission to bring Gen Z college students back to Jesus. THE REVIVAL GENERATION has impressive production values and will bring many viewers to tears, with many mass baptisms, prayers, songs, conversions, Scripture references, and stories about young people overcoming sin, substance abuse and tragedy by surrendering their lives to Jesus Christ.
