For Terry Crews, hosting WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE was a dream come true.

“In addition to my film projects including BLENDED, BROOKLYN NINE-NINE and now being a first time author, hosting has always been a dream of mine, and I couldn’t have asked for a greater opportunity,” Crews said in 2014 ahead of his first time hosting the game show.

He has since gone on to host AMERICA’S GOT TALENT for seven seasons and has hosted the Movieguide® Awards, making him a veteran of the genre, though there was a time in his career when none of this seemed possible.

“I want them to win ABC’s money!” Crews joked about his role hosting the show, adding that his continued success in the entertainment industry has not been easy. “People were saying well, you’re an old football player, they’ll never let you do this, they’ll never let you do that. And you know what? I had to challenge every one of those things. I tell all the kids everywhere that you have to challenge the things that people say you can’t do.”

Along with his hard work, Crews also credits his success to his relationship with Jesus. Though he has an intimidating exterior, Crews is known for being an extremely nice guy. This was not always the case as anger once ruled his life. However, he eventually realized that giving his life to Christ and trusting his future in Him was the strongest thing he could do.

“I have discovered strength in vulnerability, for who was stronger and yet more vulnerable than Jesus, who loved the poor and weak and defied the Pharisees. Who sacrificed his earthly life so we could live with him in heaven. What requires more vulnerability than to forgive and be forgiven? Well, I’m working on that,” Crews said. “In the meantime, I remember that love conquers fear — always — and that to be a man means accepting myself, weaknesses and all. That’s my true superpower.”

Crews now uses his platform to share the gospel and testify to how his life is better since committing himself to Jesus. This has caused him to be vulnerable about the difficulties in his life such as a pornography addiction and a lust for revenge, and how both of these aspects of his life are now redeemed through Christ.

Crews hosted WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE for only one season in 2014 before handing over the hosting duties to Chris Harrison.
