In A CASE FOR THE YARN MAKER, Bure stars as a former criminologist who recently moved back to her home town in Sweet River, Texas. She operates a shop for community artists while doubling as a criminology professor. She has a mystery to solve when a yarn heiress turns up dead. With the help of her sheriff brother, fireman boyfriend, and sleuthing book club, Ainsley is sure to track the killer down.
The movie is created by Candy Rock Entertainment and Syrup Studios. Costa Vassos serves as producer and Martin Wood directs. Bure, Ford Englerth, Jeffery Brooks, Eric Jarboe, Holly A. Hines, Gerald Webb, Martin Wood, Jim Head, and Trevor McWhinney serve as executive producers, Great American Media said in a press release.
The movie premiered on Pure Flix in May. Movieguide gave the film a +2 rating. The review reads, A CASE FOR THE YARN MAKER “stresses truth, justice and helping others. It also extols friendships, family, strong family bonds, and community… MOVIEGUIDE® advises light discretionary caution for younger children.
Bure, a Teddy Bear Award winner, stars in many roles with GAF as an actress, producer, and chief creative officer.Bure spoke about her GAF role with The Hollywood Reporter last December.
“We are a relatively new channel,” she said. “This is only our fourth year in Christmas. Like any new business, you have your core demographic and what you’re looking for, and you’re going to produce the product that will best suit that audience.”
“Most networks are not trying to be all things to all people. What really differentiates our channel from some of the other ones out there is that we’re not afraid to talk about God and God’s hand in our lives instead of fate or providence,” she explained.
One of the projects Bure is currently working on also stars her daughter, Natasha Bure. It’s a Christmas movie called TIMELESS TIDINGS OF JOY.
Candace will star as Ally, a woman who inherits her grandmother’s shop, which originally opened in the 1940s.
“In a world of technology, Timeless Tidings of Joy harkens back to a simpler time and the core values passed to us by our parents and grandparents. It reminds us that the best gifts we receive, are the ones we freely give away,” Bure said in a statement.
The movie will come out on GAF this winter.
