Emily Blunt might be one of Hollywood’s most in-demand actresses, but the star always makes sure she’s home in time for her daughters’ bedtime.

“I feel bedtime is this essential anchor,” Blunt told PORTER Magazine. “The 10-minute chats where they tell you everything — you don’t want to miss them.”

Blunt shares daughters Hazel, 11, and Violet, 9 with husband and fellow actor John Krasinski.

The MARY POPPINS RETURNS star has often spoken about how important it is for her to be home with her kids. In 2023, she opened up about her decision to step away from acting for a while.

“It’s one of those things when people are like, ‘How do you balance it?’ I never feel like I’m doing it right, you know,’” Blunt said during an episode of the “Table for Two” podcast. “But this year I’m not working. I worked quite a bit last year and my oldest baby is 9, so we’re in the last year of single digits. And I just feel there are cornerstones to their day that are so important when they’re little.”

She continued, “I just need to be there for all of them for a good stretch. And I just felt that in my bones.”

In a 2023 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Blunt shared her personal policy of never being away from her daughters for longer than two weeks.

“Because even though they’re hardy, and they’re used to this strange life, it’s still rough on them when I have to go away,” she explained, adding, “There are cornerstones of the girls’ day that I don’t want to compromise on — like, will you wake me up, take me to school, pick me up and put me to bed? And I just want to be able to say, yes, yes, yes. It’s such an exhale for me to be able to do that.”

The actress is currently hard at work on the highly-anticipated THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA 2, where she reprises her role as Emily, a stressed-out assistant to Meryl Streep’s fashion magazine editor character, Miranda Priestly.

“When we made the first movie, none of us expected the meteoric life that it would have and the impact it would have on people. As my husband said to me the other day, this is people’s nostalgia bank,” she told Vanity Fair. “I’m not sure I’ve ever been hit with a bombardment of the realization of what the movie is to people coming back to the film set. And that’s what we all feel, holy cow.”

While Blunt is still putting in the work to remain at the top of Hollywood, the actress has made it clear that, at the end of the day, nothing is more important than her daughters.
