Candace Cameron Bure shared a behind-the-scenes peek of the TIMELESS TIDINGS OF JOY set, giving her fans the inside scoop of what it looks like to work on a Great American Christmas movie.
“I think people don’t realize how many people it takes to make a movie,” she said. “We have a crew of probably 200 people, as you can see — like look around all the camera equipment — but there’s, like, lots of people, and shooting this movie that takes place in 1945, we have incredible background actors, and they’re all dressed to the nines.”
She added, “That’s how we make a beautiful movie. For you, shooting a movie is probably faster than you think. It takes 15 working days to make one of these movies.”

TIMELESS TIDINGS OF JOY holds a special place in Bure’s heart as it features a unique plot point— time travel — and her daughter, Natasha.
“I really wanted to do a time travel movie, and I worked with these two great writers that have written a couple of my other Christmas movies and an Easter movie, Macy Maclean and Taylor Kalupa. And together, we thought of a really cool time-travel story, but they really put all the details together and put a beautiful script,” she said. “And this one was always meant for my daughter and I to do together.”
“It’s a mom’s dream come true to work with one of your children,” Bure said of working with her daughter. “So Natasha is such a wonderful actress, and it’s just a blessing to me. I love being with her. I love working together. We’re living together while we’re making this movie, so it’s pretty special for me.”
TIMELESS TIDING OF JOY follows Bure’s character Ally, who inherits “Timeless Tidings, a shop her grandmother, Joy (Natasha Bure), opened in the 1940s to sell her handmade letter-press tidings.”
“The shop was a labor of love, service, and sacrifice throughout the decades for Joy. Ally always saw Joy’s sacrifices for the shop as a burden on Joy’s life and happiness,” the synopsis continues. “When Ally returns to the shop to prepare it for sale, she meets Bennett (Paul Green), an old soul, who wants to preserve her Grandma Joy’s legacy. As Ally and Bennett navigate the next steps, divine intervention forces them both to take a new, or rather old look at the fate of the shop and themselves.”
TIMELESS TIDING OF JOY begins streaming on Great American Pure Flix on Nov. 13 before premiering on Great American Family and GFam+ on Nov. 15 at 8/7c.
Bure will also star in OME SWEET CHRISTMAS WEDDING, though a release date has not yet been announced.
