Candace Cameron Bure will return to the screen for Great American Family’s HOME SWEET CHRISTMAS WEDDING, reprising her role as Sophie from last year’s HOME SWEET CHRISTMAS.
Bure will once again be joined by Cameron Mathison as Sam.
HOME SWEET CHRISTMAS WEDDING follows Sophie and Sam as they create a film about their own love story. Things get complicated, though, when the filming threatens their wedding plans.
“The couple must look within themselves to recapture the spark that made their story worth telling in the first place. Will this blockbuster leave their story (and Sam’s career) on the cutting room floor, or be a classic for generations to come?” GAF’s synopsis asks.
“HOME SWEET CHRISTMAS WEDDING is a celebration of love, second chances, and the magic of moviemaking,” said Great American Media president and CEO Bill Abbott. “We are delighted to reunite Candace Cameron Bure and Cameron Mathison for this heartwarming film coming to Great American Christmas 2025. Sophie and Sam’s love story is both fresh and nostalgic and absolutely made for the movies.”
Bure is thrilled to reprise the role.
“It is such a joy to reunite with my good friend and co-star, Cameron Mathison, to share the next chapter of Sam and Sophia’s epic love story. Our fans loved witnessing their love blossom in HOME SWEET CHRISTMAS. This time we’re excited to bring our fans ‘into the movie’ and to the biggest moment in Sam and Sophie’s lives,” she said.
2024’s HOME SWEET CHRISTMAS earned a +2 content score from Movieguide®. The review states, “HOME SWEET CHRISTMAS is a Christmas romance on Great American Family,” about how two longtime friends are reunited at a funeral, and learn that a childhood farmhouse is about to be torn down by an agriculture company. The duo works together to try and save the farm.”
Movieguide® notes that the film is “a God-centered, biblical view of romance. The story also promotes small business and family farms.”
The cast and crew are already hard at work on the sequel.
“Production is underway on HOME SWEET CHRISTMAS WEDDING (wt), the sequel to last year’s holiday hit, OME SWEET CHRISTMAS! Coming to the Great American Christmas 5th Anniversary celebration!” the network announced on Instagram.
Fans in the comment section expressed their excitement for the upcoming flick.
