Country superstar Warren Zeiders shared on social media that he was baptized over the weekend.

“Today, my sister and I got baptized 🙏🏼🤍” Zeiders began a post on Instagram.

“I’m so excited to share with y’all that I took the step today to outwardly share with the world that Jesus is my lord and savior. I’ve been raised in the church since I was a child, but God was doing some real work in my heart this year as a 26-year-old, and I knew I wanted to get baptized,” the country artist continued. “It was such an emotional moment to share with my friends and family, and especially to share it with my little sister.”

“It’s been an emotional 24 hrs between selling out my hometown arena in front of 8,000+ of y’all and then to be baptized,” he added. “At every turn God has been walking with me every step of the way. I hope someone sees this post, and I can inspire someone else to accept God into their heart and follow His word. Lord knows we aren’t perfect and we never will be and we’ll always stumble and fall, but it’s up to us to let God help us back up. I love you y’all so much, and thank you for an unforgettable weekend!”

Zeiders recently spoke with PEOPLE about his tour stop in his hometown of Hershey, Pennsylvania.

“Getting to come home and play there for the first time in front of 9,000 plus people and then be able to go glorify God in the most beautiful way by being baptized publicly by my pastor that watched me grow — I think that’s going to really help with perspective for me,” he said.

Zeiders added, “This has been a really big year of reconnecting with my faith. [My faith] has always been there, but it’s really heightened right now.”

The singer has also released a few faith-filled tracks, such as “Only Bible.”

“I wrote this song after church a couple of months back,” Zeiders wrote on Facebook. “My pastor finished his sermon by saying, some people may never step foot in a church, open a Bible, or hear God’s word. He said, ‘You might be the only bible someone reads in this lifetime.’ And it struck me at how I carry myself day in and day out. I’m not perfect by no means, and I’ve slipped more times than a few, but that perspective has been incredibly impactful on how I’ve been living, so I did what I knew to do and wrote about it.”

Praise God for how He’s working in Zeiders’ life!
