Mario Lopez shared the exciting news that he is partnering with the Hallow prayer app to unpack the hymn ‘O Come, O Come Emmanuel’ alongside Lauren Daigle and Michael Iskander to help listeners focus on Christ this Christmas season.
“Hey guys, Christmas is almost here, of course, and it’s truly the most amazing time of the year but it also has so much going on; shopping, traveling, decorating. It can become a little stressful. That’s why I’m excited to share that I’m teaming up with the Hallow app for their new Prayer Challenge called ‘O Come, O Come Emmanuel,’” Lopez announced. “It’s all focused on helping you get ready for Christmas, and I don’t mean by helping you shop, plan a party, or bake cookies. I mean helping you rediscover the true meaning of the season: Jesus Christ.”

“I’m going to be joined by Grammy award-winning artist Lauren Daigle and Michael Iskander – who portrays King David in the hit series HOUSE OF DAVID – as we prayerfully unpack the beloved hymn ‘O Come, O Come Emmanuel.’ You guys gotta check it out,” Lopez added in his announcement.
Lopez’s involvement in this project comes as the actor has been focusing on more and more faith-based content in recent years. Last year, he joined the Great American Family crew and has since been sharing his faith across his platforms.
“[Faith] is alive in me. It’s not really as prevalent [in Hollywood] as I think it should be,” Lopez said when explaining how he has been treated since he began to speak openly about his faith. “If you don’t think necessarily the way the left does entirely — they don’t embrace diverse thought, so it’s unfortunate.”
Meanwhile, the ‘O Come, O Come Emmanuel’ challenge is one of multiple programs run by the Hallow app this year that sees celebrities inviting their fans to focus on the Lord. Earlier in December, Chris Pratt shared that he would be partnering with the app to create an Advent devotional centering around Psalm 46.
“This holiday season we’re doing a prayer challenge, so an advent prayer challenge. Obviously, the holidays are fantastic, everyone loves all the holidays and Christmas, but it’s pretty stressful so, the idea is through the course of December you find just a prayer challenge to pray every day,” Pratt explained. “You find a space in your life, you know it’s less than ten minutes per day on the app to really just center yourself.”
It is amazing to see these major celebrities not only take their faith seriously but encourage others to do so and help them focus on what truly matters this Christmas season, rather than get fully caught up in the busyness of Christmas.
