In the NFL Wild Card Round, the San Francisco 49ers faced reigning Super Bowl champions the Philadelphia Eagles and came out victorious.
The 49ers, led by quarterback Brock Purdy and running back Christian McCaffrey, beat the Eagles 23-19 to advance to the divisional round against the Seattle Seahawks.
McCaffrey had 48 rushing yards and 66 receiving yards on the night. However, the play of the night came late in the fourth quarter to seal the win for San Francisco.
“Jauan Jenning and Christian McCaffrey connected on a ridiculous 29-yard TD off a trick play to give the San Francisco 49ers the lead over the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card Round,” NFL on Fox reported.

“God is good, man,” McCaffrey told the media after the win.
“Our team fights. You know, we take each day at a time and go as hard as we can every single time, and whether it’s practice or meetings, we approach everything,” he continued. “I love this group so much that I don’t have enough good things to say about it. I’m proud to be a part of this team.”

Purdy threw for an additional “262 yards and earned the road win at Lincoln Financial Field he failed to get three seasons ago when he was injured in a dismal outing in a loss in the NFC title game,” per ESPN.
“The moment you can start thinking to yourself, like, all the worst possible, you know, scenarios, and so just learning from those kinds of things,” Purdy said in a post-game press conference. “And then, so when there’s a moment like this right there for you to go take. And so being aggressive, but being smart and playing one play at a time, and obviously just believing in yourself, and for me, like I’m a faithful man, so like at the end of the day, I’d leave that all up to God. So I’m gonna go out there and give it my all and see what happens after that. So that’s how I view it.”
The Niners and the Seahawks will face off on Saturday for the divisional round. The winner will advance to the NFC Championship. If the Niners win both of those games, they will play in another Super Bowl.
