GREENLAND 2: MIGRATION is a thrilling action adventure movie with lots of jeopardy and suspense. The movie also includes some amazing sets of natural destruction. GREENLAND 2 has a strong moral, pro-family, heartwarming worldview with some Christian, redemptive allusions. The allusions include a reference to finding a Promised Land and examples of sacrifice. More Detail:

GREENLAND 2: MIGRATION is an action adventure sequel about what happens to a structural engineer, his wife and their diabetic teenage son five years after pieces of a comet hit the Earth, including a large piece hitting France that killed millions of people. GREENLAND 2: MIGRATION has the same riveting level of exciting adventure as the first movie, with strong, heartwarming pro-family content and references to a “Promised Land,” plus some great sets and images of natural destruction, but the movie’s strong moral, pro-family worldview doesn’t have any overt Christian references like the first movie had, and there’s some foul language and intense violence.

As the movie opens, John Garrity, his wife, Allison, and their diabetic son, Nathan, are living in a fortified underground bunker in Greenland. It’s been five years after pieces of the comet blasted Earth. John checks the structural integrity of the large bunker and the surrounding area. However, the area is subject to deadly radioactive storms and earthquakes.

Some good news is that vague reports from overseas indicate that the comet which struck France may have created a large crater with walls that provide protection from the radioactive storms. One of the bunker’s scientists thinks such a crater might provide wonderful protection for plant and animal life.

When a large earthquake strikes the bunker, John, Allison and Nathan barely escape with their lives. Using a steal, enclosed naval lifeboat and then a car, they start heading for the large crater in France, hoping to find refuge. However, the journey is fraught with many perils, including a small war over the crater.

As suggested above, GREENLAND 2: MIGRATION is a thrilling action adventure movie with lots of jeopardy and suspense. At one point, for example, the family must crawl over a makeshift steel ladder, placed over a deep canyon, in fierce winds. The movie also includes some amazing sets of natural destruction, including the canyon scene, parts of a city under water, a battleship beached near a stretch of sand, and a volcano with streams of lava.

GREENLAND 2 has a strong moral, pro-family, heartwarming worldview with some Christian, redemptive allusions. The allusions include a reference to finding a Promised Land, which elicits comparisons to the story of Moses. Also, the father risks his life to help the community in the bunker and then help his family find refuge. Another positive character proves to be a sacrificial father too.

The movie’s pro-family content mirrors the first movie’s pro-family themes. However, GREENLAND 2 lacks any of the overt Christian references that occurred in the first movie. That said, it seems to have less foul language. GREENLAND 2 has some strong, intense violence, though.

So, MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for older children.
