Author Tara-Leigh Cobble shared some spiritual encouragement for anyone who might be thinking God has turned away from them.
“He is with you. He’s with you. He’s not going anywhere,” she said during an episode of TBN’s FINDING PEACE IN THE CHAOS. “He’s not going to leave you or forsake you. He is going to guide you, and He’s going to go with you the whole way. And if you start to run off, He’s going to drag you back.”
Cobble pointed viewers to Jeremiah 29:11 — “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'”
“He does know the plans He has for us — to prosper us, not to harm us, and plans to give us hope and a future,” she said. “And those were a people…the people that Jeremiah wrote those words to and about — were about to go into 70 years of Babylonian exile. And the spirit of God comes out of the temple and goes with His people into exile. He’s like, ‘I gotta punish you, but I’m coming with you.’”
Cobble continued, “God doesn’t run from our sin. He doesn’t have to hide from our sin. He’s not — that idea that God turns away from us when we sin? No. He knows we’re helpless without Him.”

Cobble is host of the popular “Bible Recap” podcast, which entered Apple’s Top 10 podcasts for the third January in a row this year.
“We’re seeing a lot of people who are returning to the faith,” she told Fox News. “Those who walked away or deconstructed — for whatever reason — some of them are coming back home.”
She also weighed in on the drop in users “The Bible Recap” sees as the year goes on, saying, “That doesn’t mean people have stopped reading their Bibles; it just means they’re taking it at their own pace. They miss a day here and there, so they aren’t downloading it every day, but they still do the plan — just on their own schedule.”
“For some people, it takes them two years to do it, and that’s OK,” Cobble said. “Every download represents a person engaging with Scripture, so every download will always matter to us!”
Cobble is committed to sharing scripture with others, encouraging them to rely on God and trust in His plans for us.
