Sadie Robertson Huff warns against the sense of peace we can feel, even when disobeying God.

“If I was just, you know, directly disobeying God, that conviction would be eating me alive. Like, ‘How could I do that?’” she said during a 2025 speaking engagement, pointing to the story of Jonah.

Huff explained, “Jonah’s gotten to the point in his life where he is deliberately disobeying God, going in the opposite direction of the will of God for his life.”

He falls asleep in a raging storm, which the DUCK DYNASTY star called a “wake up call to us,” saying, “You can get so comfortable in your lack of conviction that you can even let the sound of the storm — even if life’s crazy…you can just think it’s kind of normal.”

“The thing that once scared you now is that same thing is actually just soothing to you,” Huff said.

She concluded, “I think we sometimes think if we’re obeying God…we’ll feel this peace, and that’s true. You do feel that, but I feel like peace can be masked by just rest, by just chilling.”

In the caption of the video, which Huff shared to her Instagram page, she wrote, “you can get so comfortable in your lack of conviction…friends!! I want to encourage us to be aware of areas that may have become normal to us. are there any areas God is calling out? calling you to lay it down?”

Huff recently spoke at the 2026 Passion conference, where she encouraged the audience to follow God’s will for their life.

“God is in all of it,” she told the crowd. “He’s in the open doors, He’s in the closed doors…you’re just not going to know sometimes, but you just keep making the next decision. You keep pursuing the Lord, and all of a sudden, you look up [and] you’re like, ‘Whoa, God, Your hand was on me the whole time.’”

In another post about Passion, Huff wrote it was “so incredible” to begin the year with this event.

“Debriefing on the ride home with our friends has made us realize how much our hearts needed this. I believe these talks are all up on YouTube and let me tell you… they are some must listens,” Huff wrote. “I didn’t realize how much my own heart needed to be challenged and refined by these words. Text some friends and listen to these talks together because it’s incredible to process these kinds of soul moving talks with people.”

From urging Christians to stand firm in their convictions to encouraging audiences to trust in God’s plan, Huff is all about helping her fans strengthen their relationship with God.
