While speaking to a group of incarcerated men, Houston Texans defensive end Will Anderson Jr. reminded them that God never stops working and uses “least likely” to share His Word.

“God literally takes the least likely and uses him to spread His Word,” Anderson Jr. said in a video shared by God Behind Bars. “You guys are such an inspiration to me, because I battle daily. I’m like, ‘God, are you sure?’ But in His Word, God says we are His masterpieces. He said, ‘I have created you in my image.'”

“This year, more than any other year of my life, man, I tell you, I have grown to know Jesus Christ for who He is, not for what the world says He is, not for what the Church says He is, but for what His Word says He is,” the defensive end continued. “And you know, all the accolades are fine, the all…the Pro Bowls are fine. But I feel so overwhelmed with joy this year because I said, ‘God, let our light shine so bright before others that when others see us, Lord, they glorify Your name,’ and to see how I’ve impacted, how I’ve been an inspiration for the kingdom, that’s what I’m most proud about.”

“God has truly been at work. What God has been doing back then, He’s still doing now, how God is still changing lives back then, He’s changing lives now,” Anderson Jr. emphasized. “And to walk in here and to see all the lives that He’s changed, all the people that He’s touched, it’s just been so beautiful to see. So I’m just so humbled, man, as a 24 year old, to be on this stage, and to be in this room with a bunch of men who gave their lives to Christ, it gives me so much hope and so much inspiration to know that God is still working.”

Anderson Jr. joined several other NFL players, including Rashad Jennings, Daniel Thomas, Will Shipley, Ty Montgomery II, and Gerald McCoy, at San Quentin Prison to speak to 150 men there about Jesus.

“NFL players share JESUS at San Quentin Prison! 150 incarcerated men filled the chapel to hear about FAITH, FAMILY, and FOOTBALL! 30+ incarcerated men gave their lives to Jesus! 8 men got baptized! Men in tears as they were prayed over by the NFL players. The Lord moved in a way we could not have imagined at San Quentin!” God Behind Bars wrote in a post on Instagram about the event.

McCoy had the opportunity to baptize one of the men.

“This incarcerated man baptized by NFL player @geraldini93 inside of San Quentin prison! Many of these men are serving 10 years or more in prison! Revival is here!” God Behind Bars shared.

What a powerful reminder that no matter where we are, God will still use us to bring glory and honor to Him.
