Christian campuses have a reputation for having lots of engagements — and now Hulu will bring that theme to life in its new dating show, RING BY SPRING BREAK.

The logline says it “is a bold dating series that drops single Christian college students into a steamy spring break in Cabo, where finding ‘The One’ isn’t a dream…it’s a deadline. As faith battles temptations in paradise, will they leave engaged or graduate alone?”

The show takes inspiration from the “ring by spring” TikTok trend, where girls hope to get engaged before college graduation, Variety reported.

The show will be executive produced by Jimmy Fox and Emily Bon from Fremantle. Sam Dean will serve as the showrunner.

According to MysticArt Pictures, the company is now casting for RING BY SPRING BREAK.

The concept art leans into the secular. It may be that faith fades into the background for some contestants and lust comes into the foreground. We’ll know once it comes out. There is no word of a release date yet.

Lately, Hulu has prioritized love or lust themed content. It debuted LOVE OVERBOARD in March, which follows 22 singles on a luxury yacht in Malta. Last year, it boldly introduced ARE YOU MY FIRST? with an all-virgin cast.

THE BACHELOR, THE BACHELORETTE, BACHELOR IN PARADISE, THE GOLDEN BACHELORETTE and THE GOLDEN BACHELOR all stream on Hulu.

The most recently completed season of THE BACHELORETTE was just cancelled due to domestic assault allegations against its star, Taylor Frankie Pual. It’s unknown whether fans will ever get to see her season.

Disney Vice President of Unscripted Rob Mills said, “THE BACHELOR is almost a perfect format and it is really powerful. It’s over two decades old, and it’s seen really good days and really bad days. But it’s always had a lot of resilience, especially when the people making it really, really care about it, because that fan base also really cares about it.”

“However THE BACHELOR comes back next year, it will be done with a lot of thoughtfulness and care. I do think better days are ahead for the franchise,” he said.

Though THE BACHELOR and BACHELORETTE are a very secular shows, there have been several people of remarkable faith who have appeared as contestants, including Madi Prewett Troutt. She refused to take part in the “Fantasy Suite” aspect of the show and was her bachelor’s runner-up.

“I would say that two of the biggest things that I learned from my time on the show is just how to stay true to yourself, no matter what environment or situation that you’re in,” Troutt said. “I think we live in a world where a lot of people if you don’t know who you are, others will try and tell you who you are. It’s really important for you to be rooted and grounded and stay true no matter what’s thrown your way. I had that tested to the highest degree [on the show].”

Now, she is happily married to a pastor and mom to a baby girl. She often shares her faith through her platform and through her mom’s outreach, UniteUS.
