Have you experienced a miracle? According to a recent survey done by the American Bible Society, you are not alone if you have.

The study showed that 48% of Americans have received miraculous answers to prayer, while 35% of Americans have personally encountered or seen others receive divine healing.

The study revealed noticeable differences among denominations and faiths. Seventy-five percent of Evangelical Protestant shared receiving miraculous answers to prayer, with Black Protestants it’s 65%, Catholics 57%, other religions 49%, and the lowest percentage of reported miraculous answers to prayer are those with no religious affiliation at 15%.

Not surprisingly, 90% of practicing Christians reporting miraculous answers to prayer, and 69% have been a recipient or witnessed others be healed miraculously.

“This research confirms what so many people have suspected but rarely seen documented at this scale,” said journalist and commentator Billy Hallowell. “Americans aren’t just curious about the supernatural — they’re experiencing it. These numbers should spark a national conversation about what so many of our neighbors are witnessing firsthand.”

Hallowell dives into this very topic with the INVESTIGATING THE SUPERNATURAL documentary series as host of the CBN’s INVESTIGATING THE SUPERNATURAL: MIRACLES, which won Movieguide® Aletheia Documentary Award, and the most recent release, INVESTIGATING THE SUPERNATURAL: ANGELS AND DEMONS.

“I think it offers the corroboration. You know, we often want to see those stories,” Hallowell told CBN News, who partnered with ABS in the above-mentioned survey, “We want to see them play out. And I think you get the evidence that is really remarkable, evidence you don’t always see when we talk about or feel miracles in our own lives.”

Going into filming MIRACLES, he admitted that as a Bible-believing Christian, he believed in the miracles told in scripture and believed that miracles are possible today but was skeptical when hearing of modern day miracles. His faith was “deeply impacted” through making the documentary.

“[W]e know there are cases that can’t be explained, and we can haggle over, how did it happen? But the cases in this documentary are so ironclad that I walked away very convicted,” he went on to say.

One story in MIRACLES that stuck out to the podcaster was that of Dr. Josh Brown who was diagnosed with a brain tumor that disappeared through prayer alone.

Hallowell explained that Dr. Brown and his wife Candy were Christians but were skeptical of miracles before they experienced their own.

“[S]o it struck me that their experience obviously changed all of that,” Hallowell told The Christian Post’s Leah Klett. “It forced them into a place where they were essentially praying all the time, believing all the time, that a miracle was going to be possible for them.”

As more research concerning faith continues and documentaries series such as INVESTIGATING THE SUPERNATURAL release, we pray that God continues to increase people’s awareness of the world outside the material and how He makes Himself known in day-to-day lives.
