Jeremiyah Love, who was drafted No. 3 overall in this year’s NFL Draft, shared that he puts his full trust in the Lord and believes that He has good plans for his future, no matter what happens.

“God is the reason that I am here, you know. I feel like my past so far has been, you know, just set up by God, you know. I got a Bible verse on my arm, Jeremiah 29:11: ‘I know the plans I have for you, not to harm you but to prosper in you, hope in the future,’ so God means a lot, you know,” the running back told CBN Sports. “He’s the reason I am able to do great things, have an impact on people and just inspire people to be a better version of themselves.”

“Every time I get the stage, to give God His glory, that’s what I do because at the end of the day, we’re all here because of God. We wouldn’t be who we are without God, so God has played a crucial role in getting me to this point in my life, and if it’s in His plan, I’ll do great things in the league. If it’s not, He’ll have a different path for me,” the athlete continued. “But give all the glory to God. He’s the reason that we are here.”

The Arizona Cardinals drafted Love No. 3 last week, making him the highest-drafted running back since 2018, CBS Sports reported.

Love is one of many football players who have been outspoken about their faith in recent years. His Notre Dame teammate, Malachi Fields, for example, previously discussed how he began a Bible study with one of his teammates to remain focused on the Lord throughout the football season.

“There have been times at Notre Dame where I’ve gotten connected with one of my guys, and we’ve had like, one-on-one Bible study, and we just been helping each other out through our lives and trying to get that private time in with the Lord,” Fields told Sports Spectrum earlier this year. “And there are people out there that can, you know, help you connect. And I think that’s what you need. You need a community of believers who people who are equally yoked, to continue to help push you and on the right path.”

College sports serve as a major avenue for God to impact college campuses across the country. In 2025 the Ohio State football team transformed their campus multiple times to bring the Lord to their peers.

It is amazing to see how football has brought faith to the forefront of public life, and as star players continue to use their platform to share the gospel, they inspire millions of fans across the country to take their faith seriously as well.
