e.l.f. Cosmetics co-founder Scott-Vincent Borba made headlines recently for giving up his entire fortune to follow Jesus.

“I had a very pivotal moment where, when I was at a party, I just felt so unhappy, and I was just at my height of fame and fortune, etc.,” Borba told Fox News anchor Kayleigh McEnany. “And then what I did is I just knew that I needed God’s help, so I asked Him just a simple question: ‘Help me become the man that you created me to be.’ And upon that moment, I felt His mercy and love.”

He continued, “I now know the truth that this life that we live is ultimately for us to either warrant heaven or non-heaven, and so I just understand that fully now, and I want everyone to understand that also with me, that that we’re all supposed to be journeying back home to God, where we were created.”

“And so the message is clear that mercy and hope is for everyone,” he emphasized. “There’s no sin…I was the biggest sinner…there is no sin God cannot forgive.”

He will become an ordained Roman Catholic priest next week.

People in the comment section celebrated Borba’s bold decision.

“This is a miracle! It is Jesus showing us he is real, that he does indeed listen. So incredibly happy for this priest,” one person said. Another added, “This is amazing, but I’m so happy that he created ELF cosmetics before he changed careers! God bless.”

Borba previously reflected on his life before faith, telling ABC, “We ran around with the likes of Paris Hilton, and partying with Kardashians and just doing up the Hollywood life. I was a poster boy for luxury living. I was not in any which way humble. I was very prideful.”

But when he stepped into the plans God had for him, real joy came.

“I have never been happier in my life. Once I started to reorient myself, recalibrate myself with God’s help to the focus to Him, the joy started coming,” he said.

In the Bible, we are reminded that God is the giver of true joy. Nehemiah 8:10 says, “Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

Although many chase the material things of this world, Borba’s story is a reminder that true fulfillment and purpose is found in God and God alone.
