Dyan Cannon knows first-hand that God is the only answer. In a Fox News interview, the actress shared how she learned this truth.

“When I say I’m a God girl, I really understand through all the years of seeking and through all the years of trying, my understanding has led me to understand there’s just one God that loves everybody the same,” she began.

She added, “There’s just one word to me that represents God, and that is love. That’s capital L, not little love that comes and goes. That’s what God is to me.”

Cannon explained that through the years, she lost friendships because of her decision to follow God.

“In the past, I lost… ‘so called friends,’ they weren’t really friends, and maybe even some work because of it,” she said. ‘My main seeking has been to understand why I’m here, to understand who I really am, not to fit in necessarily, and not to stand out necessarily, but to understand it, and an understanding there’s been freedom for me.”

“Is it always easy? No, life isn’t easy. It just isn’t always easy.”

Cannon explained how she struggled with many vices throughout her life, but none of them filled the void in her heart except God.

“I tried drugs, I tried men, I tried pills, I tried everything, but they were like a band aid that didn’t stick when I started to sweat,” she explained. “So I had to find a base that I could operate from and that I could return to when I fell off the base…. faith has helped me with my emotional life as well.”

In John 14:8, Phillip tells Jesus “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” The realization of his need for God is similar to what Cannon realized in her own life.

Dyan Cannon is a three-time Oscar nominee and has more than 90 credits. She is best known for her role in the romantic comedy HEAVEN CAN WAIT.

The Legit reported, “Dyan made her first big-screen appearance as Dixie in the 1960 movie “The Rise and Fall of Legs Diamond”, and later that year, she was cast to play Wiggles in “This Rebel Breed.” Five years later, she was seen in “The Murder Game”, then in 1969 came her first major movie role.”

Cannon was originally raised in a Jewish household but was not interested in God. It wasn’t until later in life that she realized her need for Him and the true love of Jesus.
